Today I’d like to talk about the word “ขอบคุณ” (khop-khun) – which means thank you.
I think all Thai language learners must be already familiar with this word… But how about saying “thanks for _____”? Like “thanks for answering me” or “thanks for the answer”.
In English the phrase “thanks for…” can be followed by a noun or a verb (gerund).
However, in Thai language, when thanking “for” the word we use is dependent on the purpose of our thanks.
